Town Council – South District

Michael Russin

"Windham families deserve predictable, fair taxes without hollowing out the services we rely on. My plan is simple: audit spending, protect seniors with targeted relief, grow the tax base smartly, not wildly, and bring outside dollars home so your property tax bill isn't the only piggy bank in town."

Meet Michael Russin: Candidate for Town Council

Michael Russin is a lifelong problem-solver and entrepreneur who brings a results-driven mindset to public service. As the leader of multiple successful ventures in insurance, staffing, and technology, Michael understands what it takes to build systems that work efficiently and deliver value. His background in business leadership, community development, and mentorship has prepared him to bring a practical, forward-thinking approach to town governance.

As both a father and business owner, Michael is deeply invested in Windham’s future. He believes the decisions made today will define the town for generations to come. His goal is to preserve Windham’s small-town character while strengthening infrastructure, managing budgets responsibly, and ensuring that growth happens with purpose and accountability.

“Windham’s growth isn’t the problem — unmanaged growth is. With planning, communication, and fiscal discipline, we can protect what makes Windham special while building a strong foundation for the future.”

Michael’s top priorities include addressing rapid development by requiring infrastructure improvements before large-scale projects, balancing housing opportunities, and encouraging growth within designated hubs like Route 302. He’s also committed to transparency and collaboration — asking tough questions about spending, demanding measurable outcomes, and keeping residents informed about both the “what” and the “why” behind each decision.

Over the past three years, Michael has:

  • Created local jobs through his businesses.

  • Founded family and community support programs like Fatherhood Forward and Hand to Hold.

  • Worked directly with neighbors and local businesses to strengthen Windham’s social and economic well-being.

If elected, Michael hopes to serve on the Finance, Land Use and Zoning, and Economic Development committees — areas where his business acumen and community focus can have the greatest impact.

Windham’s greatest strengths, he believes, lie in its strong homeowner base, natural beauty, and family-centered culture. Michael is determined to preserve these qualities while ensuring smart, balanced growth that supports families, seniors, and local businesses alike.
