Meet Mark Morrison: Candidate for Windham Town Council East District

Mark Morrison is a longtime Windham resident, financial advisor, and current Town Council Chair seeking election to the East District seat in the November 3, 2026 municipal election. He has lived in Windham since 1990, when he and his wife, Candace, settled here from the Bangor area and raised their two children, Kristen and Greg, in the community.

Mark is a financial advisor with Northeast Planning Associates. He has worked in the financial industry for more than 30 years and as a financial planner for nearly a decade, helping individuals, families, and business owners with retirement planning, wealth management, and practical financial strategies. That experience has shaped his approach on the council: review the numbers carefully, protect long-term fiscal health, and make sure spending decisions are sound before they move forward.

He was first elected to an At-Large seat on the Town Council in 2020, re-elected in 2023, and has served as Council Chair. In that role he has focused on the annual budget, strategic planning, and responsible growth while serving on committees including the Substance Prevention Grant Committee, Appointments Committee, and as the town’s delegate to the Greater Portland Council of Governments.

A Practical Voice for Windham

Mark is running for the East District because Windham needs experienced leadership that understands both the opportunities and the costs of growth. Decisions on infrastructure, property taxes, development, and public services will shape the town for years. He believes local government should protect residents’ financial interests, support a healthy local economy, and preserve the community character that drew families here.

His community service includes serving as Past President of the Sebago Lake Rotary Club (Paul Harris Fellow, 2023), membership in the Sebago Lakes Region Chamber of Commerce, service as a Trustee for the Windham Veterans Charitable Trust, and volunteering with the Salvation Army. He has also supported local youth efforts, including early fundraising to bring varsity ice hockey to Windham.

Mark Morrison is ready to bring that combination of financial experience, long-term residency, and practical judgment to the East District seat.
