Adam Zajac is a Windham father, small-business owner, youth soccer coach, and Republican candidate for the RSU 14 Board of Directors representing Windham.

Adam and his wife are raising three children in the district. That is why he first came to school-board meetings as a parent, and why he is running now. He treats education as the difference between a child who can read, compute, and earn a living and a child who cannot.

​

When he saw classrooms drifting toward politics and libraries carrying material he believes does not belong in front of children, he did more than complain. He built a welding and machining shop and taught free classes—design, machining, and TIG welding—paid for out of his own pocket. Students left with tools in their hands and projects they made themselves, including an electric tricycle and an aluminum trailer. Parents noticed. Kids learned a trade, not a talking point.

In his 2025 candidate questionnaire, Adam listed his occupation as business owner and said he had no prior elected experience. He has already put his own time and money into teaching Windham kids a skill that leads to work. That combination of parent, coach, and tradesman gives him a practical perspective on RSU 14—one grounded in classrooms, shops, and families rather than slogans.

A Practical Voice for RSU 14

Adam is running for the school board because he believes Windham and Raymond students deserve schools focused on reading, math, safe classrooms, and real-world skills.

​

As the district sets curriculum, budget, and library policy, those decisions will shape whether children leave school ready for work or college—or leave still behind in the basics.

​

Adam wants daily reading and math blocks, regular score reports to parents, and pay that rewards teachers who raise achievement. He wants extra administration trimmed so dollars go into classrooms, not org charts—without asking taxpayers for another hike. He believes families have a right to know what is taught and what sits on library shelves, and that challenges to age-inappropriate books should be handled quickly. He supports distraction-free classrooms, girls’ sports and private spaces reserved for girls, and a stronger path into the trades so a skilled job in Maine is a source of pride.
