About the event
The June 9, 2026, election in Windham, Maine, will feature the statewide primary for various offices, along with a local school budget referendum. Here's a summary of what voters can expect on the ballot (note that specific candidates may not be finalized until closer to the filing deadline in early 2026, and unopposed races may not appear; ballots may vary slightly by precinct since Windham spans multiple House districts):
Statewide and Federal Primaries
Governor of Maine: Primaries for both Democratic and Republican parties, as incumbent Janet Mills is term-limited, making this an open seat.
U.S. Senate: Primaries to select nominees for the seat currently held by Republican Susan Collins, who is eligible for reelection.
U.S. House of Representatives, District 1: Primaries for the district covering Windham (currently held by Democrat Chellie Pingree).
